I completely agree with Pogue on both counts, specially about the CAPTCHA images. Oh man, I hate them so much! I mean, I understand that they’re required to stave off spam bots but to make them so difficult that even human beings have trouble deciphering them is just plain ridiculous. I do like Apple’s CAPTCHAS, like this one:
It couldn’t be any clearer what it says and it does effectively prevent my blog from getting spammed. I wish more people on the Internet had common sense enough to use readable CAPTCHAS.
