It was a petition about fixing the damn App Store and I may have gotten a little carried away. Here it is, in its entirety:
Stop treating developers like shit.
Hello, Apple.
Would you get off your high horse and stop treating developers like something dirty on the sole of your boot? I mean, seriously, how can you not see how huge a PR disaster this is turning into and how crappy the App Store has become?
You have 65,000 apps? That’s great. Have you tried to use any of those applications? 64,900 of them are so useless, I’d much sooner use Windows than pay even $.99 for them. And you’re going after the developers of those hundred remaining applications that have actually made the iPhone as great a platform as it is and making life difficult for them.
It’s extremely hostile behaviour. Heck, it’s almost suicidal! How long do you think these developers are going to keep taking the abuse and still try to get their apps published on your store? I’m actually surprised they’ve stuck with you so far.
You need to fix this whole mess immediately, Apple. It’s been over a year since the App Store was launched and you’ve had ample time to sort out your shit. You need to fix it and you need to send a personal hand-written apology to every developer whose application has ever been rejected. You need to fall down on your knees and beg for mercy.
Goodbye.
Subtlety was never my strongest suit.
If you want to give Apple a piece of your mind over the whole App Store debacle, this is the place to go.
