A small suggestion for Twitter
Before I begin, let me make this clear that what I’m about to suggest violates the most basic rule of Twitter and is an idea that will almost certainly never come to fruition. That said, I do think it’s quite an extraordinary one and I would definitely look into it if I were the one with the reigns of Twitter in his hand. But then again, it is my idea, so I guess that’s not saying much. Twitter...

Lauren II: Grocery Hunter! →
Microsoft’s cutest shopper goes shopping again! This is Nitrozac and Snaggy’s “comical” reponse to the strange Microsoft commercial from a few days ago and was just too funny (not to mention scathingly accurate) to pass up. Joy of Tech keeps knocking their strips out of the park.

Distraction
Sometimes I’ll just be sitting around in front of my Mac, doing my writing and coding and just generally minding my own business, and then some fancy something on the Internet will catch my eye, whether it be on Twitter or among my RSS feeds, and I’ll click it. And then, before you know it, I’ll have wasted an hour reading completely inane stuff that adds no value whatsoever to my life (pointless...

Opinion: Rethinking MacHeist →
In a post from a couple of days ago, I’d written about how I was regretting my purchase of the MacHeist bundle. Well, that’s not the case anymore. And the reasons for the change of heart are outlined in the linked opinion column for MacUser.

Water of India
I’ve attended P.C. Sorkar Jr.’s magic shows on two separate occasions and I found that he mostly kept reusing the same tricks through all those years. There were a few new ones in the mix the second time I saw it, specially because he brought he daughter along this time, but for the most part they were exactly the same, repeated over and over, honed through years and years of practice. One of his...

MacHeist and the ethics of software discounts
marco: Call it what it is: You’re willingly accepting a license that will result in the developer earning almost no money. Therefore, you’re not really supporting these developers: you’re telling them that you don’t value their work enough to pay full price, but you’re going to use their software anyway. I just bought the MacHeist 3 bundle a couple of hours ago and now Marco publishes this!...

Customer care
I’m at one of the offices of Oriental Bank of Commerce right now and the person we’re here to see is busily scribbling something on a sheaf of parchments, one by one, slowly, methodically. And here we are, my parents and I, waiting for his highness to get done. No wonder this place is deserted.

¡Recepción!
Welcome to my humble, er, what do you call something that’s not quite a blog and yet isn’t a “micro-blog” either? Mini-blog, I guess. Anyway, I figured that I was really poor at updating my blog with any level of frequency, so I decided to give Tumblr a try. The idea seems to be sound—I often do not update because I do not fancy the idea of writing a three-line post on my blog and the idea I have...
